Curiously the cutting edge of human understanding of reality, as articulated by conventional science, is through the evolving framework offered by quantum mechanics -- despite many cautionary challenges to its comprehension. As variously asserted by Richard Feynman: If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics. and I think I can safely say that nobody really understands quantum mechanics.
There is therefore a degree of irony to the framing of such understanding through "magic":
